The Best T-shirt Quilts of 2020 - Part 3

T-shirt Quilt Details  |  The Best of

Each December I go through photos of the T-shirt quilts we made in the past 12 months. It's so difficult to choose which quilts to include or exclude. This year I have chosen 24 quilts to share with you.

24 quilts is overwhelming to look at all at once. So, I will break this into 4 parts. Here are 6 more awesome quilts we made in 2020.

This examination will include the size, which border, if any, and why I like the quilt. The quilts are here in no particular order.

T-shirt Quilt

Style: Standard Too Cool Style

Border: None

Size: 88" x 76" Landscape orientation

This is a quilt that was insane to make but so cool when finished! The block parts of the M were easy. The angled parts were more difficult.

On the back of the quilt, you can clearly see the M. We used yellow thread on the yellow and navy on the navy.  Looks awesome!

Style: Stained-glass - black leading

Border: 2" solid

Size: 76" x 84" - between a twin and a full size.

The Ohio State and the University of Michigan are great rivals on the playing field.

They also seem to be rivals in the bedroom!

Each of these two quilts are incredible. I think that they are both winners.

Different, yet so unique.

Border: 2" solid + 4" pieced + 2" solid border

Size: 60" x 60" - Square

We read every T-shirt that comes through the door. This one was a lot of fun to read! There is a saying for everything.

You learn a lot about people from their T-shirts. This person has great snark! Someone to catch a beer with.

Here's how to decide if you want a border on your quilt.

Style: Stained-Glass - lime green leading

Border: 4" pieced

Size: 64" x 72" - Multi use size range

I love every stained glass T-shirt quilt that we make.

If you get a grandmother feel from this quilt, you are spot on.

A young woman had us make this quilt for her to celebrate the life of her grandmother who had recently passed away.  Now she can wrap herself up in her grandmother!

Style: Standard Too Cool Style

Border: none

Size: 56" x 68" - Large lap size range

It's the T-shirts and the story they tell that make this quilt so awesome.  I can see little kids wearing these T-shirts.

The color also work well in the quilt. There are so many different color that they fuse together nicely.

These T-shirts might not be appropriate for a High School graduation T-shirt quilt. Consider having a quilt made after the 5th grade for your child.

Style: Stained-Glass - black leading

Border: 2" x 4" block pieced border

Size: 60" x 40" -  Landscape orientation

This quilt was made from silk scarves. It was made to hang on a wall in the owner's home.

The colors are rich and vibrant.

This is something totally different than a T-shirt quilt, but made with the same techniques.
