A Fresh Curve in Ultra Modern Quilt Design

Squiggle StyleHere we go again - trail blazing in the T-shirt quilt world.

First, we broke the grid with our signature Puzzle style. Then, we added drama with our stained-glass puzzle quilts, using bold lines to make every block pop.

Now, we’re adding curves to the mix with a new Ultra Modern design: The Squiggle Style T-shirt Quilt.

What Makes the Squiggle Style T-shirt Quilt Unique?

block from Squiggle StyleWe start this quilt with squiggly lines moving from top left to bottom right. Then we cross those lines by drawing squiggly lines moving from top right to bottom left. This creates blocks that are a crazy shape! Look at that red block here. Crazy!

Most blocks in a Squiggle Style quilt have compound curves. This makes sewing the blocks together a tasks for a very skilled sewer.

In a Squiggle Style T-shirt quilt,  you see the T-shirts, and you see the squiggly lines — but neither one is more powerful than the other. It’s a subtle pattern that adds flow and rhythm to your quilt without losing the feel of a T-shirt Quilt.

Could the Squiggle Style Work With Your T-shirts?

Squiggle Style cpMost likely, yes. If your shirts have a mix of designs, colors, and sizes, this layout can be a great fit. Want a second opinion? Just reach out—we’ll let you know if the Squiggle Style is a good match for your collection.

What to Know Before Ordering an Squiggle Style T-shirt Quilt

This style plays well with a lot of different T-shirt collections, but here are a few things that help it really shine:

  • Graphic Variety: The layout calls for both large and small blocks, so it helps if your T-shirts have a mix of graphic sizes.

  • Color: A variety of T-shirt colors will make the squiggles more noticeable and add dimension to the quilt.

You don’t need a perfect collection—just enough variety to let the Squiggle Style do their thing.
