Spring has arrived and graduation is approaching. There is still time for parents and families to have a Too Cool T-shirt Quilt made for high school or college graduates. Quilts for Causes
We received a great response form our Special Edition Newsletter sent out mid-March. The Multiple Sclerosis quilt is well on its way and will hopefully bring a great donation at auction. Trish and the rest of Too Cool T-shirt Quilts would like to thank those of you who donated T-shirts or made a monetary donation to the National Society of Multiple Sclerosis or Trish's Walk MS team.
Along with donations for the MS quilt, we had an impressive response from those of you who have important causes you would like our help to support. The quilt of the month is a quilt we made for the American Heart Association in response to quilts for causes.
Collecting Suggestion of the Month
A Too Cool T-shirt Quilt can provide an excellent fundraising opportunity for the special causes in your life. There are many ways to go about collecting T-shirts for a quilt for a cause. Ask your friends, family, and co-workers to donate a T-shirt and $10 to $20 toward the quilt. Contact the non-profit organization, the national and local chapters, to request a donation of T-shirts from past fundraising events.
One non profit, The American Labor Museum raised thousands of dollars with T-shirt quilts. Each labor union was asked to donate a
T-shirt and $100. When they had 18 to 20 T-shirts they had us make a quilt. So doing the math, 20 x $100 = $2,000 - $350 to $400 for the quilt = profit at $1,600 per quilt. They made 10 quilts that way - $16,000.
