Memorial Quilts

When we lose a love one, everything in our lives changes. With the death come a myriad of decisions that have to be made. One of those difficult decision is what to do with the clothing of the deceased. When the clothing is still in the closet or drawers, it is easy to trick our minds that everything is still the same. And the clothing holds that smell of your loved one.

But at some point, the closets and dressers are cleaned out. This is where Too Cool T-shirt Quilts can help! We can take any old clothing and turn it into a memorial T-shirt quilt in which you will be able to wrap yourself. You can mix T-shirts, sweatshirt, dress shirts, pants, jeans and anything that is fabric in your quilt. These quilts will make you cry, but they will also bring comfort.

Who would make a memorial quilt? You can make it for yourself from your spouses, parents or child's clothing items. If you are the friend of someone who has lost a spouse, parent or child you might want to work with them as they are going through the grieving process. This might not be the best type of quilt to make a surprise gift because initially seeing the quilt is difficult and you need to be prepared to see it.

We would be happy to answer any questions you might have about memorial quilts.

This quilt mixed T-shirts, sweatshirts and dress shirts.

Is it a sign...that you write this blog...the day I start researching t-shirt quilts. You see our beautiful 21 yr old daughter was killed in an ATV accident on March 7, 2010...just weeks before graduating from college. She and my husband had such an incredibly tight and special bond and he can't bear to part with any of her clothes. I thought this might be a way to "have a purpose" for them, to keep her close and to give us both comfort...literally and figuratively.

The quilts I have seen on here are beautifully made and well designed. I would love to have one but they are a little out of my price range. But I know they are such a blessing and comfort to those who order them...and a wonderful way to keep their memory close.
